Did you order your free "baby" thank you cards last week?
Mine arrived yesterday - super speedy - and my initial prediction proved more than true. None of them are really baby specific! Sure, one says "cute as a button", but I intend to use that as a thank you card for something cute that I get. Feel free to send gifts in the hope of meeting that criteria!

Good thing my dad doesn't read this
Because I'm about to tell you about the great card I just ordered for him!
It's a Father's Day card with a pretty standard road trip (whiny kids) cartoon. The fun part? I put a picture of him in the driver's seat and pictures of my brother and I in the back seats. The message on the inside might make him laugh, or at least roll his eyes. I'm excited!
Want to get your own? Just go to Cardstore and design your card. When you're done, use code FREECARD at checkout and it will be free - even shipping.

Easiest free cards
Pear Tree Greetings has a great offer right now. Just sign up and receive 6 free baby thank you cards. Not only do their cards look nice, but it is one of the simplest freebie sign ups I have ever done. So, get yours today. Not in need of baby thank you cards (I'm not!)? It looks to me like some might be generic thank you cards, and I bet you know someone who would appreciate the rest (I do!).

Deals by request
As the title of this blog implies, I post about all my favorite deals. Which means that there are lots of deals that I see, but don't post. Some of these are great, but so limited that by the time you see the post, they are already gone. Others, require way too much work - either clipping coupons from newspapers, or filling out complicated rebate forms. And, still more just don't jump out at me.
The free card deal is one that I initially deemed to be more complex than what I try to post. But, I'll put it up here in case you're motivated. Tiny Prints - the same site that brought us free Mother's Day cards - has a membership program that is actually kind of great! When you sign up, you can get three free cards before the membership fee (50 cents a month) kicks in. Which means that if you order two cards, they are free and you don't have to do anything else. If you order three, you will have to remember to cancel if you don't actually want the membership. Here's how you do it. Follow this link to Tiny Prints and hover over "Send a Greeting Card". Click on "Become a Member" and follow directions from there!
But, every once in a while, I am asked by a friend to find something specific. Earlier today, it was where someone could get a free (non Mother's Day) card. Yesterday, a friend asked me where she could get a spray tan. Not only did I find her a place, but also a deal. Since I already did the legwork, I wanted to go ahead and share it with you.
On the Planet Beach website, you can register for a guest pass that comes in the form of a $25 gift certificate. If you were thinking about going in, might as well sign up!

Snail mail makes me happy
Yes, I know it's 2011 and the list of ways you can wish you mom a happy mother's day is endless.
But, want to know what's more personal than that text or email? Will bring a bigger smile to her face than a Facebook message or wall post? And, a better deal than flowers or chocolates? A real, good old fashioned card. You know, the kind the post office delivers to her!

A real, good old fashioned card. You know, the kind the post office delivers to her! And, thanks to Tiny Prints, you can have one delivered right to her door for just 44 cents. (That's the price of a stamp these days people!). Simply visit their site, select and personalize your card, and use the code MDLOVE to get the card for free at checkout, and it will be delivered to her on the date you select.
Which, might be a good time to raise this question: who had the bright idea to make card based holidays - like mother's day - fall on a Sunday each year when there is no mail delivery! I'd suggest setting yours to arrive on Saturday, May 7. Hope your mommy likes it!
