Free paper at Office Depot

I'm kind of not a fan of rebates, but I am a fan of free.  So, I'll give you the scoop and you can decide for yourself.

Buy one ream (500 sheets) of Hammermill Copy Plus Paper for $6.79, and use this 20% off coupon.  You'll pay  $5.57 plus tax, and your receipt will print out with a $5.79 mail in rebate ready to use.  Send it off and once you get your money back it's free!

Not to mention that by the time the money comes back you will have forgotten you ever mailed it in and just have a super fun mail day.

Write on, wipe off

There is a common theme in my favorite daily deals today.

Today's a great one!  Every year I go see Summer Shorts, and every year I wait to buy my tickets until I find a great deal.  This might be the one.

Summer Shorts - $22 for a general admission ticket.  Your choice of 9 different performance times.

Free books for kids

Barnes & Noble has all kind of great programs for kids right now!

Most exciting - kids can receive a free book after they read eight this summer!  The details and link to the book journal can be found on their Imagination's Destination site.

While you are exploring their site, you should also sign your kids up for the Barnes & Noble Kids Club.  They get all kinds of perks including discounts, free birthday cupcakes, and a free digital book created out of their writing and illustrations!

Way to go B & N!  I support any efforts that help to encourage a love of reading in kids!

Favorite daily deals

Keychain tags - I love these!  Sure the examples are all about Dad, but don't let that fool you.  I have one just like this that simply says "home" and holds a spare key.  Or, get creative!

Oliver's Bistro - Friends say this place is great, now you can check it out at a deal.  I would recommend overlooking their photo choice too.  Anchovies were really the most universally appealing ingredient they could think of?

Paint ball - Mix things up and try something new for a fun afternoon.

Forget the peanuts and Cracker Jacks

Baseball's magic food is now cheese!

If you bring the wrapper from Kraft Singles to the box office on a Tuesday, you can get BOGO tickets to a minor league game.  More details (and team exclusions) here.

Favorite daily deals

Rosette hair pins - these are so pretty I might be inspired to make them myself!

Photo canvas - did you see a deal on this the other day and wish you already had the perfect picture?  Here's the deal for you.  Buy now and redeem before November 26!

And, the most fun deal of the day:

It's National Burger Weekend on Groupon!  Deals at over 350 burger joints around the country.  Check it out to pick the one near you.

Free (leaked) book

If you have somehow missed this going viral, you're in for a good laugh!

The for-adults-only spin on a children's book, Go the F**k to Sleep is the number one best seller on Amazon - despite still being in preorders!  To buy the book, go here.  To read it in PDF form, find it here.

Oprah offscreen

Are you missing Oprah yet?  Stop the full out withdrawal in it's tracks with a deep discount on a subscription to her magazine.

While I don't understand how a rational person might think that the "regular price" of $54 a year is justifiable, the deal of $9 is just 75 cents an issue.  Not bad at all!

Pampers gifts to grow code

Laziness prevails

Are you a bagged lettuce or a whole lettuce type of person?  I just had this conversation with a friend, and I hate to admit it, but I love the convenience of prewashed/precut/ready to go bagged lettuce.

If you're like me, here's a great coupon for you!  "Like" Fresh Express on Facebook and you can print a coupon for $1 off a bagged salad.  Print two and then hang onto them for a BOGO week to score a nice deal.  {That link doesn't seem to be working.... try this one!}

There is also BOGO and store coupons for Wishbone salad dressing at Publix right now.  You should be able to pick these coupons up on the cardboard displays by the entrance.

Judging a book by it's cover

Did you pick up a new Kindle on Woot! today?  Need some reading material?  Here are two books that are only 99 cents and looked like they could be good.  The first especially caught my eye.

Wrapped canvas photo deal

Have you seen these wrapped canvas photos?  Love them!

Anyhow, Canvas People has a great deal right now.  You can either get a free 8 x 10 canvas (about $15 shipped) or take $50 off of a larger size.  If you have had an eye out for one of these now might be the time to snap it up.

Some suggestions: travel photos look fabulous and wedding and baby photos make great gifts.

Favorite daily deals

Refurbished Kindle for $94.99 on Woot! - This one got a mention earlier, but it still counts.

NASCAR driving experience from GottaHalfIt - Two options, you can drive or ride shotgun.

CiCi's Pizza on LivingSocial - Weird, I never knew there were any of these locally.

Chilorio's Very Mexican on Groupon - This place is yummy, and cheap even without a deal.

Poolside Yoga on Sparahrah - Shout out to the new find, Sparahrah

TCBY on LivingSocial - Still good through today.

Book recommendation, plus a Kindle deal

Not just one book, but a whole series!

Lakeshore Christmas is available on Kindle for $3.18 right now.  This book is part of Susan Wiggs' Lakeshore Chronicles series and you should read them all.

I found the Lakeshore Chronicles when the first book in the series, Summer at Willow Lake,  was a Kindle freebie a while back.  This was done to promote the series right before the latest (but hopefully not last) book, Marrying Daisy Bellamy, was released.  Well, it worked - I had to read them all!

What's that? You need something to read those Kindle books on?  Well, turns out that Woot! is offering a great deal on a refurbished Kindle today.  $94.99 shipped.

Or,  you could try reading your Kindle books on one of their free apps like I do.

Favorite daily deals

Usually, the weekend is a daily deal wasteland, but today's emails greeted me with a happy surprise:

TCBY - $5 for $10 of frozen yogurt

And, check out the walls of the new TCBY concept.  The Country's Best Yogurt seems to be getting creative with their acronym.  Makes me nostalgic for acrophobia.

Frostys or Frosties?

What's the plural of a Frosty?  For some reason, it seems to me like it should be Frostys, but I am sure that isn't right.  Right?

I looked it up on the Wendy's site, and they seem to just avoid the issue by using the singular, even when it deserves to be plural.  Example:  "Hang it on your key ring and for just $1 you can have a free Jr. Frosty for one year at participating Wendy’s."

Regardless, what I wanted to discuss was the "it" of that sentence.  For a $1 donation to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, you can get free Frostys/Frosties (with purchase) from now until the end of October.  These are the super mini sizes which means that they come guilt-free and are just big enough to satisfy a summer craving.  Pair them with something from the 99 cent value meal and that is a steal of a deal.  And, you don't really  have to hang it on  your keychain.  Mine lives with a lot of other "loyalty" type cards in the ashtrayish thing in my car.

Disappointment

Remember the great Publix gas card deals that we have seen a few times lately?  Well, I was excited that CVS was jumping on the free gas bandwagon. Free $10 gas card, great!  How to earn it, less than great.

Let's review: Publix deal was that if you spent $25, you could get $10 off of a $50 gas card.  Great!  Only downside was that you had to shell out $40 then and there for the gas card.  Which meant it was maybe more acurately 20% off of a $50 gas card than $10 of free gas.  Fine.

CVS deal is that if you spend $30 on select products you get a free $10 gas card.  I really like the full out freeness of the gas card, but the product requirements are too limiting.  At first, I though that this would build across weeks, like my green bag tag points, but it doesn't.  You have to spend $30 in one week to qualify.  And, those products have quantity limits.  Oh, and you can only get one gas card per week.

I will be keeping my eye on the product list each week - easy to do since they will all have this symbol - and will share with you as they are announced.  But, I'm not holding my breath for free gas on this one.  Sorry CVS, but you could do better.

Here is the list that you can buy from this week to qualify:

• Gatorade or Sobe 32 oz or 20 oz - BOGO (limit 8)
• Doritos or Tostitos - 2/$5 (limit 6)
• Coke 2 liters - $.99 (Limit 5)
• Lysol Disinfecting spray 19 oz or wipes 80 ct - $5
• Jet Dry Rinse 8.45 oz, Gelpacs or powerball tabs 20 ct $2.99
• Hershey's, Reeses Singles - B2G1 Free (limit 9)
• Folger's Coffee 22.6-33.9 - $8.99
• Edy's Ice Cream 48 oz - BOGO $5.49 (limit 4)
• Twizzlers 11-32 oz - $2
• Swedish Fish, Sour Patch 16 oz, M&M's 9.9 - 15.4 oz - $2.50
• M&M Bags 19.2 oz - $4
• Palmolive 10 oz $.88

Like a broken record

I have been hearing from everyone that I need to take an Omega-3 supplement.  Brain experts, heart experts, my doctors, they all say the same thing.  But, every time I try to get one, I am overwhelmed by the decision process.  Are fish oil ones gross?  I know to get the one with the most DHA, but they make it hard to tell how much they each have.  So, I keep putting it off.  For months now.

And then, I see this free sample.  Perfect!  Sure it won't arrive for another two months or so, but at least I am one step closer to following this wise advice.  If you wan a free sample too, just sign up here.

*This is not medical advice.  I am in no way qualified to offer any such thing.
**If you are one of the people whose advice I have been ignoring, please disregard this post.

One day wonder

Tomorrow, Old Navy is having a Flip Flop frenzy sale. All flip flips (normally $3.50 to $5) are on sale for just $1.  The limit of 5 per person leaves you a little shy of creating this pretty isplay in your own closet, but maybe you could team up with a friend or 14!

I have a few more Publix locations to add to the list:

The getaway giftaway

Hotels.com is running a fun promotion right now!

If you stay for three or more nights, you get a free Kindle.  Two nights, a $25 gas card (like plastic gold these days).  One night, enjoy 30% off.

While this may not be reason enough to justify a getaway, it's certainly motivation to book through Hotels.com if you are traveling anyhow.

This one is a winner

Between now and June 28, you will get a free slice of cheesecake for every $30 you spend at The Cheesecake Factory!  This deal is not good on Fridays or Saturdays, and I think you will have to print and bring the certificate.

My choice right now would probably be the Reeses Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake. How about yours?

Free books for at-risk kids

As you know, or have learned, I work at a children's literacy organization.  One of our great resources for books is FirstBook - a great organization that provides very low cost books to literacy organizations like Everybody Wins! South Florida.

Disney Publishing Worldwide has generously agreed to donate one brand-new book for each new follower they gain online.  Which means that if you "like" them on FB and "follow" them on twitter, you will be putting two new books into the hands of kids.

Diet Coke Deals

I don't know how I missed this one, but was happy to find it today!

Coke product 12 packs are buy two, get two at Publix right now.  Their regular price is so expensive, but with this deal it was $10.22 for 4 cases - or 21 cents a can.  So glad I waited instead of cashing in my rain check.

Oh, and I also grabbed their competitor list from customer service.  Just as great as the last one.  I'll post my little stockpile of those soon.

Spin on a deal

Okay, this one isn't such a deal as much as a personal request!

But, here's my spin to make it relevant.  For just a little bit of your time and an email to your friends, family, and coworkers, you can make a difference in the life of a child - and be entered to win a great gift certificate!

Everybody Wins! South Florida has just launched the EW!SF $20 from 20 campaign.  We are asking friends, volunteers, and supporters to each ask 20 people to donate $20.  Easy peasy!  The first person who gets $20 from 20 wins a gift card and so does the person who gets $20 from the most people.  And, everyone who reaches the $20 from 20 goal will be entered to win three additional gift cards.

Plus, you will help to support EW!SF's work to provide caring reading mentors to at-risk students.  As we say around here, Everybody Wins!

Love this approach

Another Facebook freebie, but this one made me laugh!

Bags on Board is encouraging you to sign up for a freebie, but not for yourself.  Their suggestion, send to that lazy neighbor who doesn't quite clean up after their pet as well as they should.

Good for a laugh even if you don't need the bags.

A goldfish is a happy fish

That just goes round and round.  And round and round and round and round and round and round and round!

Yay for the good old days of sleepaway camp!

Anyhow, two fun news items on the goldfish front.

1 - Coming soon: Goldfish bread! In both white and whole wheat

2 - A coupon for $0.35 off of Goldfish grahams.  Print and hold onto until you see them on sale for $1 a bag for a great deal.

Favorite daily deals

Pilates - Love that you can buy for individual classes instead of a month pass

Quit your whining

Click to view in a size you can actually read

Have you heard about the new Publix coupon policy?  It's been all over the internet and news coverage.  And, most people seem to be unhappy.

I couldn't really figure out the whining, since - as far as I could tell - nothing changed for me.  Until today.  After my Publix visit this evening I am ready to say: Quit your whining!

I found one major change in the coupon policy and it made me do a little happy dance right there in front of customer service.  Previously, the only competitor coupons any of my Publix stores accepted was Winn-Dixie and it made me so sad to watch all the great Target match ups go by.  Well folks, no more!

The Publix at 1401 Monza Ave in Coral Gables now accepts the following competitors:

Bravo (?)

Gardner's

Milam's Market

Presidente

Sedano's

Target

The Fresh Market

Whole Foods Market

Winn-Dixie

As I visit my other neighborhood locations, I will update this with their competitor lists.  Now, if only we could get double coupons and penny items.  Oh well, a girl can dream!

Favorite daily deals

Did you see this one?  Anti-gravity yoga!

If it were closer, or a one time option, I would love to check it out.  Hope one of you does so I can live vicariously.

(Look under Ft. Lauderdale if it doesn't come up right away.)

Great domain deal

Do you have your own domain? I do!

Obviously you know what I do with www.allmyfavoritedeals.com.  Some of the others I use to share pictures, send my own ecard creations, organize my bookclub, give as gifts, run a small business....  And on and on, the possibilities are endless!

GoDaddy.com is running a great sale right now and I think you should take advantage.  Use coupon code INDY129 for $1.29 1-year domain registration, after the $0.18 registration fee, your domain will be yours for just $1.47.  You can only get one domain per account and this is not valid on renewals.

If you don't already haven't a domain, check and see if your name is available.  I personally think everyone should own that!  Or, think outside the box and come up with something clever.  For less than a soda from a fast food drive through now is the time to give it a try.

Freebie for the dog lovers

If you "like" Alpo on Facebook, you can have a free can of dog food mailed to you.  I don't have a dog, but for the 30 seconds it takes me to type my address.... this one is going in my donation box.

Oh, and the dog food looks kind of gross to me, so I'm sparing you and including a cute puppy picture instead!

How lucky do you feel?

Here's a sweepstakes that made my "worthy" list:

If you "like" Amazon on Facebook, you can enter their weekly sweeps to win  a Kindle 3G, a lighted leather cover, and a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card that can be used to shop for Kindle books or towards millions of items at Amazon.com.

Go for it, what do you have to lose?
