Decisions, decisions

I know some of you are super savvy technology pros, but others have asked for help in how to stay up to date with All My Favorite Deals.  There are so many different choices, but let me touch on some of them so you can decide what is best for you.
  • Like "All My Favorite Deals" on Facebook, and a link to each new blog post will appear in your newsfeed there.
  • Bookmark the "All My Favorite Deals"  website and check it at your convenience.
  • Follow "All My Favorite Deals" on Twitter.  Each new blog post gets tweeted.
  • Sign up to have each new blog post emailed straight to your inbox. (Look at the info on the right, it's all the way at the bottom there)

There are many more options, but those seem like some of the easiest.  If you want to follow an assortment of blogs, I definitely recommend Google Reader.

CVS Gift card deal

CVS is running a great gift card deal right now!

For every $25 gift card you buy, you will get a $5 bonus added to your gift card value.  Math isn't my strong suit, but I'm thinking that's an extra 20% free if I calculated correctly.

This deal is good only for egift cards, which means that you must buy online and then print to use in store.  There is no expiration for when you have to use them by, but it does state that this is a limited time offer, so I don't know how long the deal will last.  If CVS is somewhere you shop, you might as well grab one while you can!

Guilty!

Yes, I am that person who more often or not judges a book by its cover.  It is pretty accurate, the publixhers know how to package each type of book so that you can get a good sense at a glance.  But, every once in a while they can trick you.

I guess I am also guilty of judging a rewards program by its name/product.  A while back, I saw something about the Pampers Gifts to Grow Rewards.  I forwarded it to a Pampers loyal friend, but she wasn't interested so I continued to ignore all things Gifts to Grow.

Fast forward to now: I hear about someone using their Gifts to Grow Starbucks gift card and go to investigate.  Now I know... I have been missing out!  Gift cards seem to work out to about $10 for 1,000 points.  Well, I had 290 points within 5 minutes of signing up, and all I did was google "pampers gifts to grow codes april 2011"  There are always points posted online (and I will always share them with you here!) and, if you (yes, you!) also use Pampers, there are codes inside each package.

What are you waiting for?  Sign up now!

(and no, they do not have a referral program that I'm in, this is just too easy so I think it's silly to pass it up)

Free deodorant sample

I love these free minis!  Need a reason beyond that they are free?  And mini?  Well, they are also perfect for sticking in a gym/beach bag or for travel.

A few more hours on this one!

I wanted to post this earlier, but didn't have a chance.  A friend's store is on today's My Cotorra deal.  Check it out!
And, My Cotorra also donates a dollar of each deal purchased to charity.  Here's hoping they accept the EW!SF nomination one month :-)

Deals for dudes - or dudettes

Over and over I kind of find myself loving the deals offered on Huge.com, the deal site for dudes.

Today, they are offering a $25 Home Depot gift card for just $10!

I know there are always things I need to pick up from Home Depot.  Not the DIY type?  This deal also makes for a nice discount on other stuff they sell, like soda or paper towels.

The Huge.com site doesn't offer as many details about the deal as I would like, so I called them up to get the answers I wanted.  If you have some of the same questions, hopefully this will help:  1 - Yes, even though it is an eGift Card, you can use it in store.  2 - Despite the fact that a specific address is listed, you can use it at any Home Depot location in MIami-Dade  3 - See through shirt not required.  It is a Deals for Dudes site after all.....

Been holding onto this deal for a while....

So, ironically, this deal came into my inbox on the very first morning of Passover!  Some great coupons on here, I think there is a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese calling my name.

Coupons include:
$1 for a bagel and shmear
$2 for an egg sandwich
$3 off any signature lunch sandwich
$4 off Hate to Wait? bucket
BOGO panini deal
25% off any purchase

A deal, not a steal

{Sometimes} it is not stealing to walk out of Publix {almost} without paying!

I just got home from one of those shopping trips where I almost feel like I should be looking over my shoulder as I leave.  Today, I gave the cashier 59 cents and left with 15 razors, a cupcake, and two cookies!

Yes, that's a lot of baked goods, I know.  But, I had to get something to cover the overage, so I figured a cookie would be the perfect post-Passover treat.  Only the lady in the bakery gave me two, for free!  It was like when I was a kid and had my cookie club card.  Since I was standing at the bakery and still needed to get something, I got a single cupcake (84 cents, I think she gave me another deal!).

After all that, they only had one pack of the specific razors (BIC Soleil Bella, 3 packs) in the coupon, so I asked if they would prefer to give me a rain check, or sub out a different BIC Soleil razor that was the same price, but a 4 pack.  Well, the manager substituted the razors, so I got three more than the twelve I had planned.  So, there was a lot of luck involved in my deal, but had I only gotten 12 razors and a cookie, it still would have been great!

Hopefully this story will help energize you in your couponing and deal seeking!

Skinny Cow for a skinny price!

If you want free ice cream without the line (or restrictive schedule), I have just the treat for you!  If you "like" Skinny Cow on Facebook, you can print a coupon for $1.00 off ANY Skinny Cow treat.  Which is just about exactly how much a single serving size costs at Target.  Depending on your Target prices, you should be able to get one for nothing to about 6 cents.  And, you can print the coupon twice from each computer.

Skinny Cow single serve cups come in five flavors: Strawberry cheesecake, Dulce de leche, Chocolate fudge brownie, Cookies n cream, and Caramel cone.  I think I'll be picking up a freebie of that last one.  How about you?

(Almost) Free Ice Cream

Tonight from 5-10 pm it is 31 cent scoop night at Baskin Robbins!

And, because I found this amusing, I will share with you that I got the email about this scoop night - and another free ice cream event coming up next month at a different chain - on Ben & Jerry's free cone day.  Guess everyone wants on that bandwagon.

Anyhow, 31 cents is pretty close to free, and you can get up to 3 scoops per person.  So, find your local Baskin Robbins and enjoy!

Snail mail makes me happy

Yes, I know it's 2011 and the list of ways you can wish you mom a happy mother's day is endless.

But, want to know what's more personal than that text or email?  Will bring a bigger smile to her face than a Facebook message or wall post? And, a better deal than flowers or chocolates? A real, good old fashioned card.  You know, the kind the post office delivers to her!

And, thanks to Tiny Prints, you can have one delivered right to her door for just 44 cents.  (That's the price of a stamp these days people!).  Simply visit their site, select and personalize your card, and use the code MDLOVE to get the card for free at checkout, and it will be delivered to her on the date you select.

Which, might be a good time to raise this question:  who had the bright idea to make card based holidays - like mother's day - fall on a Sunday each year when there is no mail delivery!  I'd suggest setting yours to arrive on Saturday, May 7.  Hope your mommy likes it!

Eat. Drink. Save Money.

How can you go wrong with a tagline like that?

So, I hope you already know about this great resource, but I am writing about it just in case! Restaurant.com is one of the best resources available for dining on the cheap.  On this site, you can buy gift certificates for tons of restaurants at deep discounts.

Typically, you can get a $25 certificate for $10.  You will also have to spend a minimum of $35 to use it, so your total will be $20 (plus tax and tip on the full amount - please!) for $35 of food.  That's a not too shabby 43% discount.  However, if you sign up for their emails, there are very regularly 70% or 80% off codes to use.  Right now, for instance, you can use code BONUS for an 80% discount.  Which means your $25 certificate is now just $2 and you can get your $35 of food for $12 (plus tax and tip) or an overall 66% discount.

Just pay attention because the rules do sometimes vary.  Look for details about: minimum purchase, alcohol or other exclusions, day of the week restrictions, etc....  The BONUS code is good through 4/30, but certificates do not expire.

Go hair free, for free

The folks over at Bic were kind enough to release a nice high value coupon just as their razors are on BOGO at Publix.
Like their Facebook page to print the $3 off coupon, then hit your back button until it prints a second time.  Take your two coupons in and not only will your razors be free, but they'll actually be a money maker!  Make sure you're buying something else, some stores won't give you money back so your total will need to cover the overage.

(Sorry about the bossy paragraph!)

Ready for Halloween?

Nope?  Don't worry, neither am I!

But, I might stock up on some candy anyhow...  The day after Easter means super discounted candy, and the last in our continue string of  "the holidays of individually wrapped candies".  You can track the season by which shaped Reese's are on the shelf.  From pumpkins to Christmas trees to hearts to eggs.  There is just something about those seasonal shapes that makes them so much better than the normal Reese's cups.

If you think you need to stockpile to hold you through the summer, head to your local drug store for some great deals on candy today.

At least until they bring the Halloween candy out come mid August!

Cheap movie tix!

I think that, like me, most of you reading this are in Sunny South Florida.  So, like me, you probably mostly get the daily deal emails about local offers.  Well, straight from NY* (and a wonderful friend there who shared) here is an opportunity to buy movie tickets on the cheap.

You can get the tickets at Buy With Me, two for $11.  If you see something saying that deals are not available yet, just select the drop down for New York instead of Miami.  And, they have a Buy With Three deal where if three people buy from my link, I get mine free.  Self serving, I know.  But, then if 3 people buy from yours, you get yours free too!

And, unless these commercials were on months old shows I watched off my DVR, it looks like there are some cute chick flicks coming up soon.  So, grab a pair of tickets and let's go see them!

* Just one catch, tickets are good at ANY AMC theater, but can only ship to RI, NH, NJ, NY, CT, MA, DC, VA, TX, WA, CA, AZ, IL, WI, PA, MD, GA.  Let me know if you need an address to use!

Free Voskos Yogurt

Starting today, you can get free Voskos yogurt at Publix.

It is on sale 10/$10 which is really just grocery store talk for $1 each.  Hopefully you already know this, but just in case, 10/$10 is the exact same as 1/$1.  You do not need to buy 10 to get that price.

Now that we've cleared that up, here is the link for two $1 off coupons on Facebook.  If you happen to have coupons from the newspapers as well, there was also a $1 off coupon in the 4/10 insert.  Which means you could actually get up to 3 free yogurts.  Enjoy!

Do you miss Wet n Wild?

No, not the water park - the nail polish!

Remember how you could get every fun color on the planet because they were under a dollar each?  Well, it turns out that Wet n Wild still exists - I just looked it up.  Their color names are kind of fun too...

I have no idea if they are still cheap, but I have a tip for nail polish that is.  Sinful Colors polish is just 99 cents at Walgreens this week.  Let's face it, why exactly do we buy into name brand nail polish?  Is it really any better?  Slap a good top coat on top of this and I bet that you'd be hard pressed to tell "Easy Going" from "Bubble Bath"

Insert random Wet n Wild memory.... in sixth grade my class had a "Mini Society" where we each had a business.  My friend and I had a manicure (translation: nail painting since I don't think we even had a nail file) business.  Since we were two of the three girls in the class we didn't make much "money" (translation: a currency not quite even up to par with monopoly money).  But, we always had super fun nails!

Free batteries at Staples

This is a great deal for a couple of reasons.  First, free batteries!  Second, it bumps you up to make all other Staples Rewards this quarter worthwhile.

The Staples Rewards program pays out in quarterly checks.  But, the minimum to receive a check each quarter is $10, and rewards under $10 do not roll over to the next quarter.  That's why this one is so great.  Staples Rewards also gives you $2 for each used ink or toner cartridge that you bring in, so if you have some of those sitting around, now is the time to turn them in and get your free batteries.

I'm just sad that this seems to not be good for Energizer batteries.  You know, because today is a bunny kind of day.

Get your free tree from Lowe's

In honor of Earth Day, Lowe's is giving away free trees today!

Don't have a yard where you can plant a tree?  I'm no expert, but my guess is that these will be little enough that they can hang out in a big pot for a year or two.

Shake, shake, shake!

Visit any EVOS location for a free milkshake today!

While it may seem like everyone is jumping on the environmental bandwagon today, EVOS really prioritizes the planet every day.

Enter to win at Outback!

Outback has a "Kick back with the Girls" sweepstakes going on right now.  The prize is dinner for four - which is certainly not life changing - but could be fun.  The exciting part of this is that they are selecting 50 winners each day from now until April 29.  So I feel as if there is an actual chance to win!

The sweepstakes prompts you to connect through Facebook, but there is also the option to enter without signing into Facebook.  You just have to enter once, and if you don't win today your entry will carry over each day.   And, if you do win, just keep in mind who gave you this link.  She (I) might be a good person to invite for your free meal!

Free coffee at Starbucks

In honor of Earth Day (a.k.a. deal day) Starbucks is offering a nice little incentive to bring your own reusable mug tomorrow.  When you do, they will fill it for you with brewed coffee or tea - hot or iced.

Here's the link to the details, the offer is good only on Friday 4/22.  Could be a dangerous day to have a Starbucks just a few blocks from my office.

Free full size Origins cleanser tomorrow

Great offer from Origins!  Bring your empties to any of their stores and trade it in for a full size cleanser.

I was confused about whether this had to be at an actual Origins store (too far to make it worthwhile), or if the counter in Macy's (right near my office!) would count.  Here's the full fine print as given to me by their customer service rep:

Origins Trade-In Promotion is applicable to ALL Origins customers at any U.S. Origins department store counter and free-standing Origins retail store locations today April 22nd.  In Canada, The Bay department stores are also participating.  Bring your current skincare (any brand, any skincare product, full or empty, tubes, jars or bottles) and we'll trade it for a full-size of either Checks and Balances Frothy face wash 5 fl. oz./150 ml or a Perfect World Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea 5 fl. oz./150 ml.  You may bring in as many skincare (empty or full - does not have to be cleaned) products you wish to recycle for trade-in; however the promotion is good for one cleanser per customer while supplies last.

Make every day Earth Day

Yes, you should reuse, recycle, restore, replenish, and reduce every day.  I fully support the Earth and think we should do everything we can to take care of it.  It's great to have an annual day to remind us all what steps we can take towards respecting the earth and how - really - it's not so hard.

Are you confused right now?  This is a deal blog after all.  And Earth Day isn't actually until tomorrow.  No worries, because this post is just teaser to tell you that there are tons of great Earth Day deals and I'll be posting about them today and tomorrow.  Stay tuned!

At the risk of beating a dead horse:

There's a good pizza deal today.  I have seen this one all over the place, but just in case you missed it....

You can pick up a Groupon for a large pizza from Domino's, with up to 10 toppings, for just $8.  If you don't see the deal, click up top where it says "All Deals". Pay attention though - this one expires on May 19, 2011, plus you must order online and it is good only for carry out.

I know this is a cheese pizza and the Groupon is good for a ton of toppings, but I couldn't find a multi-topping pizza picture without mushrooms.  And, I hate mushrooms.

Exciting Kindle announcement today!

"Amazon today announced Kindle Library Lending, a new feature launching later this year that will allow Kindle customers to borrow Kindle books from over 11,000 libraries in the United States. Kindle Library Lending will be available for all generations of Kindle devices and free Kindle reading apps."

Read the full press release here.

This is great news!  The library has long been the original "deal" out there - free books!  Now, the free books come to your kindle - or iPhone or BlackBerry.... sans the germs.

The press release is a little vague about when this will launch, but says "later this year".  Thanks Amazon - we're excited!

It's a bird, it's a plane....

Here are my favorite deals available today:

Learn to Fly (listed under Ft. Lauderdale)
Segway rental
Ice Cream (and Morgan's on the sidebar)

Diet Coke Deals

This is a good week to do some soda shopping!  Me, I'm partial to diet coke, but the deals are good for any 12 pk Coca-Cola products.

I can't believe how low the limit is on the CVS deal.  I guess they knew this would be a stock up price.  And, stock up prices = them selling out.  Which, is typically a great thing.  Head's up.  If they are sold out, you can get a raincheck good for that deal any time you want.  These are precious little treasures if you happen to be in need of your diet coke fix and haven't seen a good deal in weeks.  Moral of the story, if you DO find a store that is sold out, get your raincheck and then move on to another location for this week's buy.

$2.25 each at CVS: Get $3 in Extra Care Bucks when you buy 3 for $3.25 each.  Limit 1 deal.
$2.60 each at Walgreens: 5/$13 (with coupon)
$2.50 each at Target: That's it - easy peasy.
$3.00 each at Publix: Buy 3 for $12 and get one free.

Yipity doo dah, yipity yay!

Thanks to Amy for pointing out a great resource I should share with all of you.

Yipit is a daily deal consolidator.  You can sign up on their site and pick the cities and categories (i.e. restaurants, salons, etc...) that interest you and they will send an email listing the best deals for you each day.

Admittedly, I like to see the deal summary in the subject line, so I still get my daily deal emails, but Yipit is a great tool.

Here are some of the best deals I saw today....

Are you feeling lucky today?

Little Miss Momma is offering a great giveaway on her blog!  Two lucky winners will win $50 gift certificates to use at Lisa Leonard Designs.

Such pretty jewelry - wouldn't it be fun to win?

Free peeps

I forget exactly how my friend just described Peeps to me last week.  The chosen word may have been "creepy".
However, if you are a fan, here's a fun freebie for you!

Today's Walgreen's circular has a coupon for Peeps, they are $1/2.  Match that with this coupon for $1/2 chocolate peeps and you're looking at a free pair of peeps.

Internet printable coupons

When I first was introduced to internet printable coupons, I wondered why I couldn't just make copies of these if I needed more.  Well, a little bit of research later and I had my answer.  Each one has a unique code in it.  If I print one and you print one they are actually different coupons.  And, while the stores may not know this, the coupon clearinghouse does.  That unique code also says who we are!  So, if tons of coupons start coming in with my same code, not only will the clearinghouse know they are copies, but they will know who to blame.
Now, some advice on how to make the most out of online coupons without breaking the rules:
  • The print limit is usually 2 on these coupons.  So, after you print, hit the back button (twice for me usually) and you can print again.  You can try a third time, but it will usually say that you have printed your maximum limit already.
  • The limit is 2 prints per computer, not per person.  So, if you have more than one computer, go for it!
  • Need more?  Call in a favor from a friend or relative.  If the printable is a nice high value coupon, it could easily be worth the postage to get a few by mail.
Anyone want to send me free yogurt?  I used up my prints the last time these were on BOGO :-)

Do you have a green bag tag?

Do you know what they are?

Green bag tags are free money in my book.  You buy one at CVS and then scan it each time you buy something.  On every fourth visit, you get $1 in Extra Bucks printed on your receipt.  Scanning your tag only counts once a day (so you can't buy 10 things in 10 transactions all at once and make $2.50), but I consider it to be a 25 cent discount each time I shop.  You're supposed to attach it to a reusable bag, but I just carry mine in my purse - and keep an extra in my glove compartment for when I don't have my full purse with me.  Oh, and you're not supposed to get the plastic bags when you use it.  So, bring your own or carry the stuff loose!

Anyhow, the reason for this little green bag tag lesson today is that this week (today through Saturday) at CVS you can buy your bag tag for 99 cents and get an instant 99 cents back in Extra Bucks.  What are you waiting for?  Go pick yours up today and start earning free money!

All things Google

This might be one of the best free deals that I can pass along - Google rocks!

Seriously, I'm a Google devotee!  Gmail (free for normal people, I pay 42 cents a month since I have pretty much never deleted an email and had to upgrade to more storage), Google Calendar, Google Reader and Blogger (both essential to your favorite blogs - like this one!), Google Chrome (browser), Google Checkout, Google Maps, Google Voice, Google Docs, Picasa, and - of course - Google Search.

Not only are all of these free which makes Google a great deal, but many can help you find and manage other deals.  I already mentioned how you can have as many gmail addresses as you want, and then filter them to maintain your sanity.  Other great tools are Google Calendar - set up reminders for yourself on when to snag a great deal or cancel a free trial - and Google Reader - where you can follow all your blogs all in one place.
Happy Googling!

Yoga - try it for free!

Ahhh.....  Friday yoga is my favorite transition from the work week to the weekend.  My own personal Shabbat.

I practice at Green Monkey and am proud to say that I earned a free year membership there after completing the crazy and kind of awesome Mat Crawl challenge back in September.  It also earned me the title of Green Monkey Ambassador and a stack of cards good for three free classes for new monkeys.  If you ever want to try it out, let me know and one of those passes can be yours!

Cheese update

I just got back from grabbing lunch (and using the last of my gas card rainchecks) at Publix.  Turns out Kraft shredded cheese is an even better deal than I expected and wrote about yesterday.
The sale price is still 3 bags for $5, but instead of using the printable coupons, I was able to snag some blinkies for $1 off a bag.  You might want to print your coupons and bring them just in case your store doesn't have any of the blinkies left.  Links are in the post from yesterday.

Keep in mind that you don't HAVE to buy 3 to get the deal - 3/$5 is the same as $1.67 each.  However, at $0.67 a bag, I say stock up.  I know I personally grabbed a bunch of blinkies when I was there today and plan to pick my cheese up over the weekend.

*Blinkies are the coupons that are displayed right with the item they are for.  You can't get much easier than that!

Water for Elephants

I might be the kind of person who gets cranky when publishers make new "movie tie-in" covers for books.  Sorry, that's just who I am.  But, I also love a deal, so in this case I am torn!

The new "movie tie-in" covered version of Water for Elephants is available on Amazon for $4.39 in paperback or $4.17 for your kindle.  It is a great book and now a great deal too.  Plus, if you buy through these links EW!SF gets 5% of your purchase.  If you haven't read it already, I highly recommend this one.

BOGO - Women's tops at Gap

Today through Tuesday (4/19), all women's tops are BOGO at Gap!  My birthday gift certificate (thanks!!) and I may be making this a part of our weekend.

The FB event page has more details, and cashiers will need to use code FREETOP.

Publix deals

If you want the full rundown on deals of the week - this week and every week - at Publix, I highly recommend that you follow iheartpublix.com.  WAY more comprehensive than this list.  But, here are some of the things that caught my eye and stand a good chance of making it to my grocery list:

First and foremost.... Kraft shredded cheese is on sale.  3 bags for $5.  On top of that, there are some printable coupons.  $0.50/1 and $1/2.  Print them both and grab three bags for a super low $3.50.  This is especially well timed for my week long matzo pizza fest that is about to begin!

The rest of my list is all BOGO deals and includes:

Velveeta shells and cheese
Fresh Express bagged salads
and
YoPlus Yogurt

The yogurt is $2 and on BOGO sale, so print two of this coupon and it's yours for free!

Free paper at Staples

So, I spotted this great deal on Southern Savers:

To get your ream:
1.  Print this Staples coupon (it will trigger the rebate to print when you check out).
You will owe around $4.99 and then get it all back by Staples Easy Rebates.

And, if you need other stuff while you're there, please shop and support Staples.  They support EW!SF

Free Shampoo

You should be able to request a free sample of Garnier Pure Clean shampoo and conditioner by filling out this quick form.

Also, one suggestion that I often read is to set up a separate email address to use when you sign up for all these freebies so you don't clog up your inbox. Or, if you already have gmail, you have unlimited accounts.  Simply set a filter for all email that goes to youremailaddress+coupons@gmail.com.  You can set up as many different plus extensions as you want.  There's my fun gmail tip of the day.

I'm lazy and just use my normal email address, but I do have a separate FB account just for "Like"ing.

Free ice cream = happiness

Today is Ben and Jerry's annual free cone day from noon to 8 pm.

In past years, I have often decided it isn't worth the wait, but this year could be different.  I have been craving this new flavor ever since I read about it last month.

Late Night Snack: Fair Trade Vanilla Bean Ice Cream with a Salty Caramel Swirl & Fudge Covered Potato Chip Clusters

Yum! Let me know if you're up for a cone in the Gables tomorrow....

My very first blog post!

Obviously this first post needs to start with a shout out to my super friend who encouraged me to start this blog to share my favorite deals with the world. Thanks!  And, thanks also for being my first follower.  I officially feel special now.

Here's how this is going to work.  I'll try my very best to post whenever I see deals that catch my attention.  Things that make me jot them down on my shopping list, or those things that I think are great deals, even if not for me.  When possible, I will include links to printable coupons, but I probably won't provide information on paper coupons.  I assume that most of you don't hang on to those, and there are other sites for you if you're that hardcore.

Speaking of other sites, here's some info on the boxes to the right.  There's info on my real job, and my side job.  Like them both on Facebook!  There are all kinds of ways to follow this blog - use them please.  I have also provided links to some of my favorite blogs (I pruned that list) and to daily deal sites (not pruned).  However, when I see things on any of those that are great, I'll post them here.

And, just to start, here is the deal that most jumped out at me this week:

Boneless, skinless chicken breasts are on sale at Publix for $1.99 a pound.  Grab them now before the sale ends on Wednesday or Thursday (depending on your Publix).
