Mixed feelings

At first, I was very excited about this Groupon offer:

$15 for $30 to spend at George's in the Grove.

Great, right?  This restaurant gets rave reviews and I have been meaning to go there.  The main complaint I heard is that it is a little pricey.  In steps Groupon to solve that.

Except for two things.  First, the weekend option (really, separate options?) is sold out.  Fine, I can get a weeknight one.  But then there is the second thing.  A big huge red flag that is enough to stop me in my tracks.  The fine print includes this winner: Expiration varies.  What does that even mean?  In the end, I think I will pass on this one, but wanted to share it since it does have some appeal.  I mean, give it an any day of the week usability and one year from now expiration and I would have been all over that.

National Lasagna Day

Six boxes of Pop Tarts for $2 sounds like a phenomenal deal, and I don't know that I have ever even eaten a pop tart!

Publix is going to have Pop Tarts on BOGO in the coming week's sale.  Two boxes for $2.09.  Buy 6 boxes ($6.27) and then use two $1 off of 3 Target coupons and two $1 off of 3 manufacturer coupons to bring your cost down to $2.27.

The sale doesn't start until Thursday, but print two of each of these coupons before they are gone.

There are going to be some lucky homeless people on my corner if it turns out I don't like pop tarts.  Have any flavor recommendations for me?

Sugar rush

While I'm not a huge fan of Walgreens (What are these register rewards?  And why do they always have so much trouble with coupons?), I'm willing to overlook it for true freebies.


For the whole month of July, you can get free Skittles (or - I think - Starburst or Life Savers).  Just grab one of their coupon books by the entrance and flip through until you find it.  The big print says $1 off of 2 big bags, but the little print says that you can get the smaller size free.


Might be worth grabbing one - or some - to hid from yourself.  Maybe in your desk.  You'll thank me one day when nothing but sugar will cure the 3 pm slump.

I bet you thought that I didn't like any of today's daily deals since I hadn't posted them yet. Well, sorry, but you're wrong.  There are some great ones today!


Most exciting first:

$25 for $50 of Fine Steaks and Seafood at Christy’s  This is one of my favorites, you should definitely grab the deal.  Sadly, it specifices you can't use it with prix fixed meals, so no doubling up on deals come restaurant week. 

$25 for a manicure/pedicure at Tiano Salon Spa.  Good, but  not great deal for a mani/pedi.  The location pushes this one over to great.


And last, but by no means least:
$20 for three kids yoga classes with Shine On Kids.  While this isn't a deal for me, you should definitely get this if you have or are expecting kids of your own.  Carly is fabulous and you won't regret it.
